So much has happened since my last post. I don't know where to begin. For those of you who have been keeping up, you know there were several things on the horizon...but first baby update.
Brayden is four months today. Time is moving quickly. It was this time last year that I was partying at JMU with my girls none the wiser that I had began growing a fetus. [Homecoming was this weekend and I didn't go]. As it stands, my lemonade and vodka concoction and wine that weekend did not hurt him. Praise God. He is still happy as ever, can lift his head and carry on a full blown conversation when you ask him a question. He still loves bath time (and massages with lotion afterward). He giggles when I touch his feet. He actually has a real laugh now. It's the cutest thing!!! He is constantly growing, so clothes are fitting snug. With the weather change, we are layering t-shirts over long sleeve tops. Of course there is only so much layering you can do, because one loose poop can ruin everything and no matter how many clothes he wears, he can still catch a cold.
Germs are everywhere.
Brayden has had a sinus infection and what seems like a never ending cold. I blame Daycare and the inconsistent weather. Just last week it was 86° and sunny, and as I type this post it is currently 39°. Like c'mon Mother Nature, give me a sunny 73° and I won't complain. lol
So yea, when baby is sick, mommy gets sick, daddy gets sick, and we are all coughing and sneezing. Lysol spray/wipes have become my side Janks. Purell hand sanitizer is now my main.
On top of the the downward spiral that became my household, for a week, we have been getting ready for our move.
Of course a congested baby, means a restless baby. A restless baby, means a tired mama. Brayden wakes more thru the night because the poor baby can't breathe well. So I'm up comforting him, at 11p, 1a, 145a, 230a, 315a, and 4a when my alarm goes off at 430a...
That is the reality of a sick baby. No sleep in sight. (Commuting, working, and packing) My mommy bags (puffy eyes) are real. Not enough concealer in my make-up bag to hide that! LOL
What has helped is my ISTJ nature. All boxes were labeled by room and itemized. So during the unloading, the box could be placed in the proper area. I know where most everything is... keyword most. Losing things is inevitable. The baby's bottle warmer ended up in Northumberland smh. So of course I bought a new one.
I also made sure all three of us had a duffel and carry-on size bag with enough clothes for 1.5 weeks. That way we weren't tearing thru boxes trying to find clothes for work, daycare, gym, and chill. #SmartMamaMoment
Noses stuffed, boxes too, Mommy bags and overnight duffels, we got it done. Shout out to my mama and aunty, still the real MVPs. On her days off, my mother helped packed our place.
On 20 and 21 Oct, we moved a few boxes into our beautiful home in New Britain. We literally emptied our apartment over the course of three days, finishing up on 22 Oct, with the UHAUL.
My mother-in-love and baby girl were on Baby Beez duty. Brayden enjoyed time with his grandmother and sister I'm sure. The move was successful thanks to some close friends and family. As I've spent the last few days, unpacking boxes and cleaning, I realize how much crap we own. I even got rid of things prior to the move.

So far one room is completely unpacked, and of course it's the kitchen. Not much will be accomplished if I'm not properly caffeinated and Beez and Baby aren't nourished.
The next few weeks will be interesting as we continue to unpack and make New Britain feel like home in between travel engagements. That being said, I wouldn't trade my sleepless nights and bag packing at all, because we are where we want to be, my little family, in a house.
And you know I have so many ideas of how to decorate! I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration.
Brayden's room will still be elephants (we love him a ton [lol].) I found the cutest porcelain elephant night light at Walmart Sunday night.
I've finally decided on a color scheme for my kitchen(for now)...teal and red (Pioneer Woman). I already have red accessories, but PW has some cute accents that incorporate teal. I would have never put the colors together, but it looks cute. Country kitchen in suburbia.
I will finally have my blue and nude living room that will incorporate my peacock centerpiece (my mother made it when I first moved to NOVA five years ago).
The MBR is still undecided. I'm leaning towards yellow and gray. We will see how that goes though.
Brian's man-cave, will be left to his imagination with the exception of a corner, which will be my home office. I have some cute canvas wall art to hang.
I am too excited for seasonal decor. I'll be making my Autumn wreath this weekend and decorating the fireplace with orange and yellow accents and placing the order for our canvas family photo. I've already set up my yummy smelling Autumn candles.
Our life is all about transition right now, work schedules, Baby schedules, and New Britain.
Autumn is very much a transitional season and that is the phase of life we are in right now, so it works out perfectly. By the Winter Solstice, I'm sure we will have this part squared away.
