The Space Between 🐘💙💛

The count down continues. Here lately, I've been a little more anxious; time is winding down and I feel like I have so much to do.

As you have read, Brayden's nursery theme is "Mommy and Daddy love you tons/ a ton"🐘<elephants>
The colors are navy blue, yellow, and grey. I have been pinning to my heart's content different ideas for his room. I found some pretty great stuff too. In a previous post, I mentioned I was painting letters for his nursery. I still haven't attached the string to hang them.... yea idk what I'm waiting for either. Oh yea wait. Energy. I lack it.

I decided not to reupholster the chair, after looking at Youtube, I figured this isn't a project I could do while in my third trimester, so instead, the plan is to use a slip cover.
Then I realized it doesn't fit in the nursery with the crib/changing table, TV, and twin bed.  I didn't want to remove the bed, because that's for his grandmothers when they visit. It's also, for Daddy, so he and Brayden can have "Father/Son" time watching Sports Center and NBA TV while Mommy takes a break.  So the nursery chair, will go in the master bedroom, so I can rock him/nurse him and watch Big Bang Theory. Problem solved.

The decor for his room will be yellow elephant statues (courtesy of the awesome baby shower given by his aunties and uncle) and Grey elephants decals which we picked from Buy Buy Baby. Brayden's crib has a navy blue and Grey layette with yellow accents. One of Brian's fave pics from the maternity shoot will also hang in his room.

It's still a work in progress but it's coming along nicely. My mom aunt visited this weekend to help with organizing everything. I am so glad they did. All of his clothes and bedding has been washed and put away, organized by size of course. I feel a lot better about the room too. Mom and aunty put up all the elephant and star decals. We can actually see the crib. Lol We have been so blessed with gifts for Brayden. He is so loved.

We also had our hospital/maternity ward tour this afternoon. It went well with the exception that I was told the wrong time and had to wait an additional 30 min. Smh. Overall, I am pleased with the facility and their practices (encourage skin to skin contact and nursing).

We will finalize the Birth Plan next weekend and get our "whooping cough" shots this week. We will also pack our hospital bags this weekend.

Brayden is measuring a little big, so the doc doesn't think we will see his intended due date of 27 June. At 31 weeks, we are measuring 33. I think Baby Beez will have his Daddy's height!!

As always I will keep you posted. Stay tuned for the next bumpdate. Exploring Tiger stripes and Pregnancy Swag aka the Waddle.

Sweatshirts and Pearls

I never realized that even after eight years in the military I still somehow gravitated towards a uniform. Not just any uniform, specific articles and accessories that make me feel like I’m ready to take on the day. No matter if I feel good, bad, or indifferent, my pearl earrings make every outfit public appropriate. I feel naked without them. I even workout wearing smaller versions of them. O_o Accented with my favorite necklace, (a single strand of round pearl beads worn by my mother on her wedding day); my pearls can bring any outfit to life. Even a basic sweatshirt. If I had to choose, some variety of a sweatshirt would be in my top five article of clothing. They are comfortable and warm and when paired with the perfect jean or legging BOOM!  You have an outfit ready to run errands (the bank, the mall, and Wal-Mart), visit friends and family (Homecoming and the 3.5 hour drive to Northumberland), or simply lounge around the house on a Sunday afternoon, sipping Northern Ne...

Need My Carmex... Kissing 2018 Goodbye

(Dec 2018) 2018 is almost over...what a year?! As I sit here eating my homemade white chocolate covered pretzels, I am reflecting on the Year of Yes and how much my life has changed in 2018. If my Year of Yes has taught me anything, it's that even when the yes is for my good it may still suck to have to say it out loud. I have experienced great joys, great sadness, and contentment this year.  2018 is not ending the way I had expected which is a major plot twist but nevertheless, I prevail in tact, Faith on lock. (Y'all know I still try to plan life and God does what He wants. LOL ) Focusing on the 2018 highs. The Caffeinated Mamas Support Group launched. I set a goal and reached it. Have already started working on a few events for the Caffeinated Mamas' 2019 calendar and can't wait to share and fellowship. Some major collabs happening so be sure to follow us on FB and IG. (@thecaffeinatedmama_) Babybeez celebrated his 2nd Birthday. The #TerrificTw...

Drink Champagne and Dance on the Table

Unlike years past, there was nothing planned for my birthday. Literally, I said I will see how I feel in reference to making plans on the Saturday before #CiDay. Who are you? And where is Ciera? You know the one who plans like her life depends on it. She is still around just taking a much needed bird's eye view.  You see this last year has been something special. Running into to thirty full-throttle did something for her well-being. It was exactly the kind of year she wanted. A YEAR OF YES. Last year's mantra was about living with intention, living out loud. It was a drastic change from the normal organize/prepare, plan, contingency plan, and execute.... On one hand, I hired a travel agent, planned and had a contingency for traveling to the Bahamas, and then on the other I literally hopped in a car and rode to Canada just because; and it was a blast. I've had champagne and I danced on the table in my dreams, why not in-real-life? I have never been at that level of spont...
